Ramon Scheffer | Director of Financial Reporting Services, HA&W
Ramon is the Director of Financial Reporting Advisory Services at HA&W. Before joining HA&W, Ramon was with PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP (PwC). With a focus on providing his clients with the most up-to-date advice on accounting matters, Ramon offers hands-on experience and knowledge to his clients. In his role, Ramon provides advice related to financial reporting and accounting for U.S. and international companies, either public or private. He is specifically focused on helping clients complete financial statements in compliance with regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), including getting ready for an Initial Public Offering (IPO), registration statements, annual and quarterly filings, historical financial statements of an acquired company, pro forma financial statements and carve-out financial statements. He also assists clients with the completion of technical accounting memos on any topic, including revenue recognition, stock-based compensation, lease accounting and consolidation.
Due to his background and experience, Ramon is also very experienced in the application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS), including converting from U.S. GAAP to IFRS and vice versa. He has assisted numerous companies with accounting for acquisitions outside the U.S. and the adoption of US GAAP as part of business combination accounting.
Ramon has experience working with companies of all sizes in the technology, professional services, manufacturing, construction, retail, real-estate, entertainment and media industries. As a revenue recognition subject matter expert, Ramon has been following the project since 2008 and published an article titled “Are You Ready for the Proposed Changes to Revenue Recognition?” for the Financial Executives International (“FEI”) in 2011. He has also authored many key updates for HA&W clients and presented frequently on the topic.
Ramon graduated with his Masters in Accounting from Erasmus University Rotterdam, the Netherlands. He holds a CPA in the State of Georgia and an RA in the Netherlands. His professional affiliations include:
